Possibilities for the introduction of: “For Happier Families”® Family Life Education (CSÉN) program at schools

Abstract

The registered trademark CSÉN program is a practical response, a best practice with a history of nearly 30 years to solve the problems raised. It consists as follows:
1. It is based on: Family lessons® developed for students in grades 1-12, based on an interactive, thematic series of sessions, unified curriculum and lesson plans the introduction of which is allowed by the National Core Curriculum since 2013 onwards. In elective classes it may be included as an independent subject with the name CSÉN lesson, integrated within the subject. There are two independent, standardized, copyrighted adolescent awareness programs in close relation to the program: MFM-Project Cycle-show® for girls and Secret Mission® for boys.
2. Training professionals for this task: incremental further training for teachers in 120 hours. This spans a full training period: 60-hour Basic Methodology Training, 60-hour Practical Further Training supported by e-mentoring. It is also possible to take part in the Secret Mission® session leader training.
3. Continuous professional development, expansion and deepening: according to the professional guidelines, Program Elements (eg. the Curriculum – Sample Curriculum and Lesson Plan Examples developed for grades 1-12, as well as the so-called Virtual Teacher’s Handbook which presents certain activities during classes and the related processing) and arranging Stakeholders’ Days/on-site mentoring days to provide opportunity for deepening the professional role and exchanging experiences.
4. Quality Assurance Framework: both CSÉN Professional Guidelines and Mentoring Program set out how the Program is operated and implemented, and how schools are supported.
