Lecture and abstract of the conference entitled:
Demography and the Culture of Relationship between Couples
27-29 May 2021, Hungary
Organized by Family Science Alliance, Batthyány Society of Professors and European Family Science Society
Presenting the Hungarian Billings Center
The Billings Ovulation Method was discovered by the Australian neurologist Dr. John Billings in 1953. He and his wife have elaborated the most effective and most simple natural family planning method ever known which has helped millions of women all over the world. It has been used successfuly to avoid conception in the developing countries, as well as to help couples with low fertility rates in the western countries. The worldwide organization, WOOMB International, was established in 1978. Billings Centre Hungary, currently run by the Fília Foundation, has become an official member in 2016. It functions as the sole professional representative of the world centre, its Educational Committee is authorized to issue internationally accredited certificates in Hungary.
It is our Centre’s goal to introduce and teach the authentic Billings Ovulation Method to help couples, families and our society. We also aim to support married couples and the younger generation – within and beyond our borders –, to recognize their sexuality in its complete truth and commit themselves in building the civilization of life, thus contributing to the survival of our nation and our culture. Therefore our Centre cooperates with educational, civil and church organizations.
The distribution of the Method has an impact in several fields of life protection, such as foetus, fertility, youth and family protection. Numerous international and domestic examples confirm that its application results in a decreased number of divorces and abortions and increased number of desired children conceived.
